| The vast interior of Hagia Sophia - laid out in the style of a classic Roman basilica, with a large central nave and flanked by rows of columns. The interior, 185 feet high, can easily accomodate the Statue of Liberty. The low hanging chandeliers were originally designed for oil lamps, but today hold light bulbs. |
