Charing Cross Station, one of London's grand railway station. In the days of rail travel, hotels were commonly part of stations. The white monument to the left is the Eleanor Cross. When Queen Eleanor died in 1290, her body was transported from Nottingham to Westminster Abbey. The king built a memorial at each of the twelve places his wife spent a night.
